Barack Obama
How can you watch this and not want this man to lead our country. I look forward to listening to him throughout the campaign process - even if he's blowing smoke up my ass - at least its smoke that smells good. At least he rallies people around hope - not fear, he gives ideas of unity - not superiority, he preaches peace - not war. If experience gives us more of what we have today - I say fuck it. I want the naivety, I want the hope, I want speeches I can listen to and smile - and not because I'm making fun of the man. And between a fake car salesman, a divisive hard-nose, and this man - I don't see that there is a hard choice to make.

The thing about Obama that bugs me is that he's really good at speeches, but he SUCKS at debating. He loses all his courage when forced to confront his detractors.
I've seen numerous times when he could have really railed on his biggest competitors and he chose a road of political neutrality. His straight-forwardness is what initially attracted supporters...I hope that he keeps it up with the big win in Iowa.
I've watched for 7 minutes now and I've yet to hear what he's going to "change" -- sounds like more government programs that will cost us more money.
Oh wells...
I don't think he really sucks at debate . . . he kinda has an attitude, an annoying smirk if someone calls him out for something, but he stumbles because he does give real answers to the questions - not some pre-written answer that he molds to make it sound like he heard them.
The way he talks IS the change, emaw. He talks about that stuff that is wrong with the country and the political economy and politics in general. The fact that he has gotten as far as he has is promising enough to me that change is possible.
He delivers a great speech which makes him like Clinton and Reagan. I don't like his policies and ideas. He is way more liberal than any other viable candidate which we can't afford right now.
